Premature Ejaculation Myth & Facts

Misconception about premature ejaculation can sometimes be understood as a myth over facts. To clear some confusion, here are some interesting myths & facts about premature ejaculation:

Myth
You can not control your own ejaculation.
Fact
Like controlling your bladder during childhood, you can learn to control ejaculation and become familiar with it.

Myth
Premature Ejaculation is a problem that is in your head (psychologically).
Fact
There are some psychological factors that relate to the cause of premature ejaculation, but for a more physical part it is due to an oversensitive penis glans (penis head) which requires little stimulation to the area causing a low ejaculatory threshold.
Myth
Alcohol, cocaine, marijuana and antidepressants are good ways to control premature ejaculation.
Fact
Serious side effects associated with such drugs must be taken into great consideration. Most of the time, the abuse of these drugs causes erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, inability to orgasm, and other side effects. Antidepressants pills can cause serious side effects also and should only be taken under doctor's direction and strict medical care.

Myth
Anesthetic sprays or creams available at sex shops are good ways to control PE.
Fact
Unlike herbal products, these chemical products just numb the head of the penis as well as the partner’s vagina, cutting the pleasure and sensation for both parties. The numbing effect prevents the man from becoming accustomed to the sensation of having sex for longer periods of time, so the problem will just return when you stop using it.

Myth
Premature Ejaculation will not cause erection problems.
Fact
Premature ejaculation is usually the first sign of Erectile Dysfunction. Patients who have suffered from premature ejaculation for a long duration of time will eventually develop erection problems compared to those who can control their ejaculation.

Myth
Premature Ejaculation will not affect your sex life.
Fact
Men who worries that they will ejaculate too soon will not be able to relax and enjoy sex so therefore avoid sexual encounters. Their partners are not able to get the satisfaction from sex and as a result may avoid intimate and sexual relationships.

Myth
Premature Ejaculation will not affect your confidence and ability to socialize in everyday life.
Fact
Premature ejaculation affects your man hood and like any type of problem that affects your self-image it can have a negative impact on your confidence and the ability to socialize. Men who learn to control their ejaculation often are more confident and outgoing.

Sex Tip #1: Understanding the Female Orgasm

Just because you have premature ejaculation doesn't mean you CAN'T become a stud in bed. There are simple tricks that can make her thoughtful of you when it comes to sex, just know how!

Tip #1:
Understanding the Female Orgasm

What is a female orgasm? It's pretty much when the woman reaches the peak of her sexual arousal. This creates the involuntary contraction of her lower pelvic muscles which can also cause spasm in other parts of her body.

The result of her orgasm releases chemicals into the bloodstream such as 'prolactin' which translates into relaxation of the body and 'oxytocin' thought to be responsible for the pleasant feeling during and after sex including the sense of feeling emotionally close to her partner.

A female orgasm is created by sexual stimulation of some kind. But some women find it difficult to orgasm by penetration alone, and require some form of stimulation in the clitoris area. This can be due to several reasons, but the main reason is that you are not finding the right spot that turns her on.

Quick Fact: 82% of women who said they masturbated in a survey conducted by Hite Research International, 95% of them could easily and regularly have an orgasm whenever they wanted.

So, instead of jumping right into sex with your boring missionary position start off with some foreplay to turn the heat on. Stimulate her senses by kissing her neck, caress her breast for a few minutes and observe her reactions. Repeat and focus on the areas that she responds sexually the most. If you could, just simply ask her where she likes it and work on that area. The point is you want to strategically find the right spots that will trigger vibes of tingling senses that will make her give into her emotion.

As an early ejaculator, you don't want to be sticking your wood in anytime yet. This is when you can be creative by using your tongue, fingers, or even objects to stimulate her clitoris. Warm her up as much as you can before you get intimate. The more you build her excitement, the more likely you will ensure her orgasm. When you notice that she is about to climax, quickly but smoothly put your penis into her vagina and continue the stimulation gradually and watch her squeal and come until you ejaculate!

As you both try and catch your breath, do not leave your position just yet. Stick around and pamper her by kissing her forehead implying that the sex was great. Hug and hold her so that she feels physically and emotionally close to you. This will definitely stir an image of your face the next time she thinks of sex or you!

Antidepressants & Premature Ejaculation

Antidepressants have been known to help premature ejaculation sufferers to experience a lagging or somewhat longer control during sex.

What you need to know about antidepressants.
The most common antidepressant to treat premature ejaculation is called "Dapoxetine" (dapoxetine hydrochloride). Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) or serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitor (SSRIs) used for treatments also in depression, anxiety, insomnia and some personal disorders.

A report published in the 'British Journal of Urology' concluded that Dapoxetine was found to tolerate and improve all variables associated with premature ejaculation which includes the reduction of personal distress, interpersonal difficulty and the improvement of sexual intercourse.

One data observed by a group of researchers from Minnesota University looked into 2 studies involving 2,500 men with different levels of premature ejaculation. Their average ejaculation time after vaginal penetration was less than one minute with the average age group of 40 years.

The test group were given the following one to three hours before sexual intercourse. Dapoxetine was given to half of the men and the other half given a placebo. Those who took Dapoxetine experienced better control and a longer ejaculation time with an average ranging from 2.75 minutes and 3.30 minutes with dose of 30 mg and 60 mg respectively. The placebo group had an average of 1.78 minutes.

Approximately 20% who took the 60 mg dose experienced side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, headache and dizziness. Researchers characterized Dapoxetine as "generally well tolerated" and said it improved ejaculation time "significantly." Other known side effects includes psychiatric problems, dermatological reactions, weight gain, reduced libido and weakness after frequent use, which casts considerable doubts in the long term use of Dapoxetine.

For more information you can view the clinical trial test to see the efficacy of Dapoxetine in the treatment of premature ejaculation.

Dapoxetine has already been approved in some European countries such as Austria, Sweden, Finland, Portugal and Germany. Although Dapoxetine in clinical trials has shown improved results for men with premature ejaculation, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the US and other countries considering for approval are still in the Phase 3 trial and is not likely to approve this drug yet due to it's potentially harmful side effects.

Premature Ejaculation Cure: Herbs

There are many products and types of treatment out there to cure premature ejaculation, but without the proper knowledge you sometimes just don't know which one to choose from. The most common type of premature ejaculation remedy is using desensitizing creams, gels, or sprays. These types of products can be categorized by its ingredient to two types, herbal and chemical.

Premature ejaculation victims such as myself can at times be overly obsessed with finding the miracle solutions to "last longer." During this quest we sometimes forget to weigh the benefits and ignore the consequences because we are more interested in getting the results achieved.

A chemical based solution will usually consist of anesthetic similarly used in surgery to numb you but in much lower amounts. If you notice in the ingredient labels of these products you will usually find these anesthetic name ending with "caine" such as Benzocaine, Lidocaine, etc. What these prouducts obviously do is when applied it will numb your penis blocking the sensation and distracting the brain's attention away.

Now, although it can greatly reduce your sensation and help control premature ejaculation its side effect can be a bummer. Because its a chemical property, the possible side effects are burning sensations, stinging feelings, redness from burns and not forgetting to mention the loss of pleasurable sensation. If you are not careful these side effects may be transferred to your partner's vaginal area and she may experience the same.

To get a better understanding with a diagram illustrating the effects of chemical based products, you can click here to see "How it works."

Herbs has been used for countless of generations mostly in Asia to effectively improve health and heal symptoms in a very natural way. Today herbs is known all over the world and has entered into the era of modern technology. With the combination of both herbs and technology, herbal medicines has become undoubtedly safe, natural and effective remedies that can be found in topical or ingestion forms.

Panax Ginseng for example has been known to contribute good sexual health along with many other types of miracle herbs. One other type that promotes sexual health is Butea Superba. It's a native Thai herb that grows in the mountainous regions of central and north Thailand. The roots and stems of the plant can be used for medicinal purposes to improve your health physically and sexually by improving your blood circulation. Some of the sexual functions that it can improve are:

1. Premature ejaculation

2. Low libido

3. Erectile dysfunction

Butea Superba's characteristics works with the brain instead of the vascular system which controls the sexual function. Therefore the reaction to this herb is natural which allows the body to improve its overall bodily function including the penis to perform better during sexual encounters. If you would like to understand more about this herb, you can find more information on "Clinical trials & Butea Superba."

Herbal products that are used to help prolong premature ejaculation can vary due to the method used. In general, herbs or any other types of pills that are ingested may usually take longer to see results due to its natural properties. Unlike topical formulated herbal products, they are applied directly over the penis and absorbed into the skin and the results are felt within minutes.

In the future before you choose to buy any chemical or herbal based products, remember the pros and cons of each and go out there and make the wise decision based on your new knowledge.

Types of Remedies for Premature Ejaculation

As a premature ejaculation sufferer, I have searched for decades to seek various types of ways to solve my PE problem. During my quest I have came across many types of remedies claiming to cure premature ejaculation. I have also experienced both satisfaction and disappointment from my findings so, let me just say this. Some product and methods were overwhelming and some where just a waste of time and money.

If you look into the market place for premature ejaculation products, you will be bombarded with various types and brands of remedies with solutions and claims on how it will cure premature ejaculation and make you last longer. With that said these are the common types of remedies or solutions you will usually find:

1. Desensitizing creams/gel and spray
2. Pills
3. Training books
4. Counseling sessions

These solutions are all the many ways to prevent premature ejaculation problems, but if you look deeper into each method and understand how each works, you will find that the satisfaction of effectiveness for each method varies from one over the other. So, how will you know which solution is the best for you?

Desensitizing creams, gels and spray are the most common types of remedies out there. They are usually in the form of herbs or chemicals. Chemical products in general consist of a numbing agent that usually ends with 'caine', such as 'benzocaine', or 'lidocaine'. The chemical agent is applied to the head of the penis and depending on the number of minutes or hour it takes to kick in, the result will eventually be a numbing effect. These type of products may work effectively, but I must say by experience at the expense of sensation! I may have been able to last longer than my normal average or even sometimes for hours, but frankly speaking I didn't even feel a thing! Pure numbness...... so, I asked myself what is the point in having sex when I couldn't even enjoy it?

Topical herbs on the other hand contains no chemical agents and are more effective at desensitizing your penis by using a cooling like effect which does not numb you and compromise on sensation. It works as effective but better because you still can feel and enjoy!

Anxiety as you know is the most common cause for premature ejaculation. So, most of the pharmaceutical pills are designed to do 3 basic roles. First is to help increase the blood flow to the penis because anxiety weakens the man's erection and stamina for holding power. I personally did not find it to help me directly.

Secondly, it works as a depression pill to help reduce the feeling of anxiety. I like to call these pills 'boring pills' because the side effect is that they literally make you feel bored and depressed. You wouldn't want sex to be dull, right? It's a NO vote for me here.

Lastly, it's a combination of minerals and vitamins that improve your overall body condition. It takes energy and vitality to have good sex so, if you're lacking good health it's one premature ejaculation contributing factor. Some pills may serve as one or two function which may not be as effective when put together but in general, they will have a combination of all these characteristics.

But like most health supplements, they don't work overnight and is required to be taken regularly as a daily dose. Results usually varies depending on the bodily condition and on an important note, taking medication (chemically synthesized) in the long run may be harmful to your health.

As for training books and counseling, I must honestly admit that it was a total waste of time for me personally due to my hectic lifestyle. Investment in time is needed but not necessarily ineffective. Like all athletes with coaches who train to perform better, books and counseling is no different. These books and counseling session gives you techniques that helps you to train and overcome premature ejaculation naturally, resulting as a better performer in bed. But like all sports, when you lack the exercise your performance drops.

Use what's best for you and good hunting!

Stress and Premature Ejaculation

Greetings, my name is Ted and I'm a premature ejaculation victim. In my previous post I started a topic on "The Birth of Premature Ejaculation" that discussed the related causes such as psychological, emotional and physical conditions which are all factors contributing to premature ejaculation.

For this post I'm going to discuss on physical related PE.....and the winner of today's post is no other than 'STRESS' itself.

In today's challenging and economic climate, stress is the number one factor that affects our lives day in and day out. The place you are most likely to get exposed to this is your very own office. You are bombarded with work loads, deadlines, time pressure, overtime and to top things off, your boss bitching at you like cheap labor in a flea market! It is to no big surprise that you go home every night not only with a brief case full of work but a big amount of stress overlaying your entire body from head to toe.

It is very common that people under this pressure of stress will want to find a medium or way to release their stress. Whether its a glass of beer, exercising, bubbling up in a tub of jacuzzi, a massage, having sex, or whatever it takes to get a load off your mind. When it comes to sex, stress and anxiety are the most common general factors that contribute to premature ejaculation.

Our normal bodily reaction in eliminating stress is usually to release immediate body pressure and tension in the desired method we choose to do so. Therefore, when a man choose to have sex under these conditions they tend to loose their capability of prolonging sex and involuntarily submit to their ejaculation. Their orgasm rewards them with the immediate feelings of stress relieving satisfaction and giving men the status label of having premature ejaculation.

If this habit of immediacy in bed goes on, it can develop into a physical and psychological behavior that sticks with you. From being able to last on a normal average of 7 - 10 minutes most premature ejaculation sufferers can drop down dramatically to 2 minutes or less!

During my employment days after graduation as a marketing intern, I remembered how my boss particularly abused me as the ' newbie' in the company. Boy did he really cause me a lot of stress! I would go home usually mentally tiered everyday and when it comes to sex I would have the attitude to just skip the process and go for the ending. While this may please me, my partner did not feel the same.

How to prevent this?

Well, the key to the solution is learning how to RELAX. You must find ways to relax first before encountering sex. Have a glass of wine to buzz you up, or even smoke pot if it helps! I usually request for a massage and that usually does the trick. If you have more time and is motivated, then you can exercise to reduce the level of stress. Not only does exercising promote a better health in the long run, but it will also promote a better sex life.

Bottom line is once you are all eased up you are more likely to perform better. Its not easy to change if you have gone deep into this habit, but slowly adapt yourself first physically by relaxing, then psychologically by changing your attitude when it comes to sex.

You can learn more on how to combat stress and make that change in your sex life. Start taking control of your premature ejaculation and please your partner tonight. When you do, she will return you the favor 10 folds!! Seriously...........so, start relaxing!

The Birth of Premature Ejaculation

There are several reasons why one can experience premature ejaculation disorder, whether it's psychological, emotional, or just simply physical. Today I am going to talk about only one, which is psychological development of premature ejaculation.
Research studies and pattern has shown evidence that premature ejaculation is linked to early sexual experiences when one masturbates in a hurried environment to try and avoid being discovered. This guilt feeling of getting caught in combination of trying to climax fast to get it over with can develop into an irregular pattern of ejaculation!

Hi...my name is Ted and I'm a premature ejaculation victim. You can read my previous post titled "My Introduction" to get to know me better. Today our topic of discussion is the development of premature ejaculation.

Remember those teen years of Freshman high school where every kid was entering into a new era of young adults?! Their hormones were heavily pumping and raging sexual drives were taking over young minds. Everyone was trying new things, being adventurous, exploring new horizons and some even started to explore sex. I for one was one of them, but little did I and they knew that premature ejaculation was lurking around our young curious habits and behavior.

I am a family of six and during my teen times I had to share and bunk beds with my brothers. The only private place for me to masturbate was the bathroom. Occasionally, when the urge arises I had to go to the bathroom and hurry for fear of taking up too much time. This hurried behavior eventually programed into my brain that when trying to climax, fast ejaculation is required.

After a year of self-serving with masturbation, I had my first girl friend during Sophomore year. We had my first sex during our school trip down the beach. I remembered it so well not because it was my first but, as soon as my penis entered her vagina I got so excited with a few strokes that I burst semen all over her naked body. My premature ejaculation problem was so bad that it literally took me only 10 seconds to come. How bad was that! This occurrence applied to many occasions and encounters over the years even after my first girlfriend on new dates, one night stands and etc.

Back then I didn't know of any remedies or exercises that can help prevent my premature ejaculation disorder. So, in order to calm my self down a level I masturbated before any sexual encounter. I usually relied on this method to reduce my excitement especially for first dates because it makes me nervous. This method didn't turn me into a stud in bed, but hey, it surely beats 10 seconds!

You can subscribe to my RSS feed on the side bar to your right for my next share of experience with premature ejaculation.

I know by first hand experience how it feels to loose confidence when it comes to matters of the bed, all that anxiety building up and pressure to perform to only disappoint your partner in matters of seconds! I've been there and done that!
